Aquarium

Planning on restarting my aquarium when I get back from vacation (first attempt didnt go the way I planned) since my tank will be empty, I want to establish moss in my tank and I want to figure out what single fish will be fine on it's own in the tank while I establish plants and water quality (what I originally wanted to do grrr...), a Betta looks like a good choice but I want to know what my options are! so if anybody knows any non-schooling fish then let me know! (I dont plan on keeping the fish in my tank once it is set up, I want to switch over to blue tiger shrimp or another shrimp variety once I'm finished.)
